Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The production area is Alta Maremma, in the Colline Metallifere. A dedicated vineyard was planted in 2003 with a selected Sangiovese clone suited to the dry climate and hot summers of the Tuscan coast. Beginning with the 2011 harvest, the wine has been made exclusively from fruit grown in this vineyard.
The vines are planted at 5,000–9,000 plants per hectare and trained by both spur-pruned cordon and Guyot. The clay soil contains a medium-to-high proportion of stones and is rich in minerals and pink marble, a basic rock present in the estate’s soils. The vineyard is managed through integrated pest-management practices.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand into 15 kg crates during the first or second week of September. Fermentation takes place in concrete at controlled temperature, followed by 15 days of post-fermentation maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures in 23 hl French oak vats.
Technical data

Tasting profile
Deep ruby red. The nose combines ripe dark-fleshed fruit with vegetal notes, woodland-floor nuances and floral accents. The palate is defined by elegant tannins enriched by balsamic tones. The finish is long and lightly savoury.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with roast meat, game, pasta with meat sauce, Pecorino Toscano, saffron risotto, or substantial red-meat dishes such as bistecca alla Fiorentina.
Label / history
First produced in 1992, Perlato del Bosco Rosso represents Tua Rita’s interpretation of varietal Sangiovese. Its vineyard identity became more specific after the planting of a selected clone in 2003; the 2011 vintage was the first sourced exclusively from that vineyard.
