Vineyard and terroir
The production area is Alta Maremma, in the Colline Metallifere. Fruit comes from several parts of the Tua Rita estate. The soils are markedly clay-rich and contain a medium-to-high proportion of stones. Higher plots are more stony, while lower sites contain more silt. Planting density ranges from 6,000 to 8,000 vines per hectare. The vines are trained to spurred cordon and Guyot, and the vineyards are managed under an integrated pest-management regime.
