Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown at Villa Vallemaggiore in the province of Grosseto, one of the few coastal wineries in Maremma. Its proximity to the sea creates a microclimate distinct from other parts of the region. An almost constant sea breeze keeps the sandy soil dry and ventilates the vineyards, helping to maintain vine health. The soil contains trace elements that contribute complexity and aroma.

Label / history
Villa Vallemaggiore has belonged to the Matta family since 2001. The wine is produced by Castello Vicchiomaggio, whose castle was built in 1400 and once hosted Leonardo da Vinci and Francesco Redi. The estate is now owned by John and Paola Matta. Campostella received a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
