About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow on south- and southeast-facing hills near Lake Garda, at 200 metres above sea level. The vines are 34 years old on average. The climate is fresh and cool, shaped by air currents from the lake, which soften the differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The lake also reflects bright sunlight towards the hillside vineyards, helping the grapes reach full ripeness. This combination of temperature variation and strong sunshine gives the wines their juicy, fresh and fruity character.

Grapes

Corvina Veronese contributes good acidity and cherry notes, and adds depth in blends. Rondinella brings herbal notes, colour and body, and highlights Corvina's gentle spice. Molinara adds tannins and fresh acidity; by law its share of the blend must stay within 20%.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in early September, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 26–30 °C for 8–10 days, with daily pumping over. Malolactic fermentation is partial.

Ageing

The wine ages for 3 months in stainless-steel tanks, then a further 2 months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Lively, with an elegant structure. The aroma is an intense one of berries. The palate is balanced, fresh, juicy and easy-drinking.

Serving and pairing

Decanting is recommended before serving. The style is versatile and suits a wide range of dishes, including exotic ones; the text names no specific dishes.

Label / history
