About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The 2024 Valpolicella Classico Superiore is made predominantly from grapes harvested on the hills of Grola. The vineyards face south-east and have mixed soils with a good clay-limestone component. Guyot-trained vines average 35 years.

Grapes and harvest

Corvina Veronese and Rondinella. Manual harvest takes place around the second decade of September.

Vinification and ageing

The grapes ferment in stainless steel at 25-31 deg C for about 9 days. The wine ages in large barrels for 6 months, followed by 2 months in concrete.

Technical data

Vintage 2024. Alcohol 12.61% vol. Total acidity 5.60 g/l. Residual sugar 2.4 g/l. Dry extract 29.4 g/l. pH 3.38. Format: 750 ml.

Tasting profile

Notes of strawberry, cherry and red plum are accompanied by delicate oak and dried rose. The palate is elegant and fresh, extending the fruity finish; tannins are soft and well integrated.

Vintage notes and pairing

The 2024 season required strategic agronomic choices after a mild winter, rainy cool spring, summer heatwave and September temperature variation. Climate monitoring optimized treatments and improved sustainability. Pairings include tagliatelle with white rabbit ragu, beef carpaccio with Parmesan and porcini, Soppressa Veneta, prosciutto crudo, mushroom risotto and wild herb risotto.
