About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from carefully selected plots, described as Belisario's best. The south-facing vineyards lie in the upper Esina Valley at 350–450 m above sea level. The vines were planted on the southern slopes in 1985.
Vinification
The harvest date is set by monitoring the ripening curves for sugar, total acidity and pH. The grapes are gently pressed under vacuum and the must is clarified by flotation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled 14–15 °C and lasts 20 days.
Ageing
The wine rests for 4 months in steel tanks, then for a further 30 days in bottle after bottling.
