About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in vineyards in Abruzzo.
Vinification
The wine is certified organic, biodynamic and vegan. It is vinified with natural yeasts and without added sulfites. Its production involves pollen from Dinaric gentian and mountain pine collected in La Mugheta, whose name means “the place where pine trees grow.” This area of the Maiella massif lies above the tree line at elevations of 1,700–2,300 metres.
Ageing
After fermentation, the wine rests in steel tanks for six months before bottling.
Vintage notes
For the 2020 vintage, the plant material used in production also included a selection of black elder.
Label / history
The wine belongs to the “Vola Vole Maiella National Park” range, which draws on the biodiversity of Maiella National Park, one of Italy’s relatively young protected natural areas.
