About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards are situated on the hills of Chieti, on the slopes of the Maiella, at 432 metres above sea level. The soils are limestone, and the vines are 20–25 years old.

Vinification

The wine is produced organically. The grapes are harvested by hand during the first ten days of October and gently destemmed, followed by 14 days of maceration. Fermentation takes place at no more than 20 °C with yeast obtained from the pollen of local plants. The must is then transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures for six months in barriques, followed by several months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
