About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a 3.5-hectare vineyard in Menfi, planted in 1992 at a density of 4,300 vines per hectare. The alluvial soils have a medium texture. Hot, dry summers encourage fuller fruit flavours, richer aromas and lively natural acidity. Yields are kept low.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in early September, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks at approximately 13–15 °C.
