About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Campora comes from the estate-owned Campora vineyard at Casale in San Gimignano, in the province of Siena.
Grapes
Cabernet Sauvignon with small percentages of Merlot.
Vinification
Traditional red fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with frequent pump-overs.
Ageing
The wine matures for approximately two years or longer in small French oak barrels, developing body, structure and elegance. It then rests for roughly the same period in bottle in the estate cellar.
Technical data
Rosso Toscano IGT. Minimum alcohol: 13%.
Tasting profile
Intense, deep ruby red. The broad yet fine bouquet offers ripe blackberry, vanilla and cooked-plum notes. The palate is intense, soft and warm, with considerable complexity and harmony. Extended barrel and bottle maturation supports exceptional longevity.
Serving and pairing
Decant for at least one hour and serve at 18°C. Pair with substantial meat stews, grilled or roasted meats, game, and mature fine cheeses. The wine is suitable for approximately 15–20 years of ageing.
Label / history
The published record of recognitions begins with the 1985 vintage.
