About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

A single-vineyard wine from Vigna a Solatìo at Casale Falchini in San Gimignano. The vineyard lies at an average elevation of 250 metres, on clay and yellow sands containing Pliocene fossil remains.

Grapes

100% Vernaccia di San Gimignano, harvested by hand.

Vinification

Whole grapes undergo soft pressing. The must ferments without skin contact in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine remains in stainless steel under controlled conditions. It is at its freshest and most fruit-driven when young, although careful bottle ageing for two to three years can bring additional complexity without obscuring its distinctive character.

Technical data

Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. Minimum alcohol: 12.0% vol.

Tasting profile

Bright straw yellow. The delicate bouquet recalls green apple, jasmine and white flowers, accompanied by mineral nuances. The palate is fresh, refined, balanced and pleasantly fruity, with finesse, an elegant structure and a clean, refreshing finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10°C. Suitable as an aperitif and with Tuscan appetizers, first courses, soups, fish, shellfish and white meats. Its freshness also complements more substantial preparations seasoned with exotic spices such as saffron.
