Aged for 6–10 months in French oak barrels, followed by six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Rich, voluptuous and enveloping, with good structure and soft tannins. Sangioveto brings good acidity; Merlot and Syrah contribute softness, freshness and aroma; Cabernet Sauvignon adds natural structure. The overall style is elegant.
Label / history
The name Ornello refers to the wood used to make the long sticks with which Maremma cowboys drive cattle. The cowboys depicted on the label symbolize the elegance and strength of the Maremma landscape.
