About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow near the sea in Maremma, on mixed soils rich in limestone that support particularly good ripening.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the first half of September, then gently pressed and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in steel vats.
Ageing
The wine rests for 6 months in steel tanks, followed by 4 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Fresh and easy-drinking, with the classic character of Vermentino and exceptional balance.
Label / history
The label depicts Pia de’ Tolomei, a woman from Siena believed to have lived in the 13th century. Mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy and in numerous Romantic-era works, she was killed by her husband. Her remains lie at Castel di Pietra, near the Rocca di Frassinello estate.
