About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from estate vineyards in the Chianti Classico region, specifically from sites where Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon perform best. Rocky soils combining marl-rich limestone and clay, together with a moderate climate, shape the wine's dark-fruit character.

Grapes

60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel tanks, with daily manual punch-downs and selected délestage operations to promote extraction of colour and flavour while building richness and texture. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques.

Ageing

The wine matures for 16–18 months in first- and second-use French oak barriques, followed by extended bottle maturation before release.

Tasting profile

The colour is intense red with purple reflections. Aromas and flavours combine black pepper, cloves and ripe fruit. Ripe-fruit notes continue across the palate, joined by delicate savoury nuances and a vegetal finish. The tannins are sweet and balanced, with generous volume and good persistence.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18 °C. Pair with braised meats, roast game, truffles or aged cheeses.
