About this wine
Grapes
90% Sangiovese and 10% indigenous red grape varieties.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation is followed naturally by malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures briefly before bottling and sees no wood, preserving the grapes’ freshness and varietal character. It is designed to be enjoyed young, within its first two years.
Tasting profile
Crystalline, slightly transparent ruby red. The bouquet combines wild rose and red rose with Marasca cherry jam, pink pepper and mace. Dry and fresh on the palate, with savoury character, good structure and lively tannins. The broader style is medium-light-bodied, fruit-driven and supported by good acidity.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18°C with pasta in mushroom sauce, aromatic white meats, roast lamb or semi-mature cheeses.
Vintage notes
The 2025 growing season began with a mild, relatively dry winter. Increasing spring rainfall delayed budbreak by about two weeks and encouraged vigorous early growth; conditions became warmer and drier from early June. In 2024, abundant spring rain replenished water reserves but complicated vineyard health, while a wet September made harvest scheduling difficult. That vintage produced low-alcohol, high-acid Sangiovese with a light body, bright fruit and a long palate. The 2023 season brought severe downy-mildew pressure and an estimated 30% average production loss in Tuscany, followed by July temperatures above 40°C and a hot, dry harvest. The resulting wines showed medium structure, good flavour profiles and good tannin quality.
