About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown on the hills of Valdarno. The estate’s hillside vineyards lie at 470 metres above sea level and cover 60 hectares.
Vinification
After harvest and pressing, the grapes macerate on their skins for seven days at a controlled temperature of approximately 28 °C.
Ageing
The wine receives no barrel ageing and is intended to retain its youthful freshness and fruit character.

Fresh, with bright fruit character.
Label / history
The castle dates to the 16th century and retains its medieval appearance. Originally owned by the Lombards, the estate has belonged to the François family since 1897 and is now run by Alessandro François. The family received an international award for oenology in 1911. The 2014 vintage won a bronze medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and received a “Commended” rating at the 2015 International Wine Challenge.
