About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
La Corte comes from the 3.4-hectare Vigna La Corte, situated at 440–470 metres above sea level. The vineyard is trained to Guyot at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
Fermentation lasts approximately 15 days at 28°C.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least 30 months in total, including three months in bottle.
Technical data
Alcohol: 13.5%. Average production: 10,000 bottles. Ageing potential: 20–25 years.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby red in colour, balanced and elegant, with pronounced character. Red-fruit scents meet herbal aromas and a light balsamic nuance. The finish is long and smooth.
Serving and pairing
Pair with roasted red meats, bistecca alla Fiorentina, fresh cheeses and medium-aged cheeses.
Label / history
The first production dates to 1904. After more than a century as an IGT wine, La Corte entered the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione denomination as a pure Sangiovese.
