About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in deep, dry soils rich in silica, with limestone and clay. Salento’s sunny Mediterranean climate is moderated by steady sea breezes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested early in the morning, before sunrise, and taken directly to the cellar. They are gently pressed and remain briefly in contact with the skins before controlled-temperature fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is bottled in March.
Label / history
Kreos is dedicated to Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn. According to the story recounted in the description, her mourning for her son—killed by Achilles during the siege of Troy—turned her tears into dew. Homer portrayed dawn through Eos’s rosy fingers.
