About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Negroamaro grows in fairly dry soils containing limestone, clay and silica. The estate is in Salento, Puglia, where strong sunshine is moderated by steady cooling breezes from the nearby Mediterranean Sea. These conditions help the grapes develop finesse and balanced fruit character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested early in the morning to limit premature oxidation caused by heat and sunlight, then taken directly to the estate’s cellars and gently pressed. Fermentation and a brief period of skin contact take place under controlled temperature conditions.
