About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from Montepulciano in the province of Siena.

Grapes

Sangiovese complemented by other traditional grape varieties.

Vinification

Fermentation and maceration take place at a controlled 24–26°C, with daily pumping over. The wine is then racked.

Ageing

Maturation continues for four months after racking.

Tasting profile

Balanced and elegant, with a gentle tannic impression at the beginning of the palate. Its defined identity is deliberately distinct from Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and presents an accessible introduction to the wines of the Montepulciano area.

Serving and pairing

Serve in a medium-sized wine glass. Pair with antipasti, pasta dressed with red-meat sauce, filled pasta or grilled red meat.

Label / history

Rosso di Montepulciano is conceived as the gateway to the local Poliziano wine tradition. It is not intended as a substitute for Vino Nobile, but as a balanced, elegant wine with its own character.
