About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Pinot Grigio is grown in the Cielo family's own vineyards. The estate belongs to Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici, which has around 4,000 ha of vineyards, where most of the company's wines are produced. The Berici Hills (Colli Berici) are a series of ancient volcanic formations between Verona and Padua. The climate is very mild and sunny, similar to the Mediterranean, and grape growing has flourished there for thousands of years.

Vinification

The grapes are gently pressed, followed by a short maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in neutral vessels, so that the wine keeps as much of the grapes' natural aroma and freshness as possible.

Tasting profile

Semi-dry, easy to drink, with a pleasant, refreshing taste.

Label / history

Cielo E Terra was founded in 1908. The name combines terra, Italian for earth, with the surname of the founders, the Cielo family. In 1930, under Pietro Cielo, the company began expanding and improving its production. New vineyards were established in 1962, allowing production to increase. The winery is now run by the fourth-generation brothers Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo. It is one of the largest producers in the Veneto and owns around 300 ha of land.

With the support of the group's winemakers, Cielo E Terra takes part in a project to improve every part of wine production and agriculture in the Berici Hills, from vineyard to bottle.
