Merlot Colli Orientali Friuli DOC

Vineyard and terroir

The Merlot grows in the estate's own vineyards in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The soils are rich in mineral deposits, limestone and calcium.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed and crushed at the winery. Fermentation uses selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of around 28 °C. Skin maceration lasts 10–15 days, depending on the level of extraction wanted, after which the grapes are gently pressed.

Ageing

The wine ages for 12 months before bottling.

Serve at 15–18 °C so the wine shows its full character.
