About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are situated on the southern slopes of Vulture in Basilicata, at 400 metres above sea level. The vines grow in volcanic soils, with sunny conditions moderated by cool mountain breezes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested late and entirely by hand.
Ageing
The wine matures in large barrels for 18 months, developing structure and maturity.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby in colour, with a rich, powerful nose of ripe cherry, blackcurrant and herbs, accompanied by delicate mineral notes. The wine has notable depth and character.
Serving and pairing
Decant for 15–30 minutes before serving. Pair with game, charcoal-grilled lamb, herb-braised beef or aged Italian cheeses.
