About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Syrah is selected from estate vineyards lying between 150 and 250 m above sea level. Their orientation is North–South, the planting density is 6,400 vines per hectare, and training is bilateral spurred cordon.
Grapes
Syrah.
Vinification
Harvest is indicated for the second half of September. The fruit is destemmed and softly crushed, then fermented for 20–25 days at controlled temperature in thermoregulated stainless-steel tanks. The wine is cold-stabilized.
Ageing
Perenzo matures for 12 months in large truncated-conical cement vats and at least another 12 months in bottle. The style deliberately avoids wood ageing to emphasize fruit concentration, savoury and balsamic dimensions.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with violet reflections. Ripe red fruit and cherry are joined by tobacco leaf, medicinal herbs and balsamic notes. The palate is full and persistent, with clearly defined, elegant tannins.
Label / history
The wine originated from a careful selection of estate vineyards intended to express the potential and character of Syrah grown in the heart of the property.
