About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie between 150 and 250 m above sea level, with East–West exposure and a planting density of 6,400 vines per hectare. The vines are trained to unilateral spurred cordon.
Grapes
Predominantly Sangiovese, complemented by Syrah. The Syrah contributes delicate spicy accents while remaining in harmony with the Sangiovese.
Vinification
Harvest normally takes place during the first ten days of September. The grapes are destemmed and softly crushed, then fermented for 15–20 days at controlled temperature in thermoregulated stainless-steel tanks. Cold stabilization follows.
Ageing
The wine matures for nine months in large truncated-conical cement vats and another 12 months in bottle. It sees no wood, preserving the purity of its fruit expression.
Tasting profile
Brilliant ruby red. Fragrant aromas of red berries, wild cherry and raspberry are joined by pepper and violet. The palate is fresh and vinous, with expressive fruit and sweet, polished tannins.
Label / history
Heba is the ancient Etruscan name of Magliano in Toscana. The name emphasizes the wine’s bond with its place of origin and its role as an emblem of the estate’s production.
