About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Le Oche vineyard in the hills of Castelli di Jesi, at 380 metres above sea level. The soils are a mixture of sand and clay, and the vines are ten years old on average. The vineyard takes its name from the geese—oche in Italian—that control weeds and grass between the rows for Natalino Crognaletti.
Vinification
The grapes undergo 20 days of skin maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with natural yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36 months: two months in cement tanks, 28 months on the lees in stainless-steel tanks and six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The nose is expressive and complex. The palate is juicy and rich, with an exceptionally long finish.
Label / history
Fattoria San Lorenzo has cultivated Verdicchio for several generations. The name Campo delle Oche refers to the geese in the Le Oche vineyard.
