About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from mid-altitude slopes at 250–300 m above sea level in Monferrato and Langhe. The vineyards face west and southwest and are planted on rich limestone, sandy and marl soils.
Vinification
The must ferments in stainless steel tanks for 6–7 days at 23–25 °C. Regular pumping over helps optimise the extraction of tannins and colour. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and is complete by December.
Ageing
The wine ages for six months in new barrels of French oak from Allier and in large Slavonian oak botti. It is closed with a screw cap.
Tasting profile
Fresh, modern and appealing in style, friendly and approachable, while staying rooted in Piedmontese winemaking traditions and the Barbera grape.
Serving and pairing
Easy to pair with everyday dishes, whether simple or more elaborate. Best enjoyed within 3–4 years of bottling.
