About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, where the plots face south and southwest. Their Miocene soils contain limestone, grey marl and sand.
Ageing
The wine spends its first year in French Allier oak barriques, followed by two years in 2,000-litre French oak casks. It then matures in bottle for at least 12 months, with the precise period determined by the wine’s character.

Label / history
It belongs to Fontanafredda’s core “The Stripes” range, distinguished by striped labels and created to represent the variety of wines produced in Piedmont. Most wines in the range are single-varietal and connect their grapes with a particular municipal appellation or vineyard.
