Vineyard and terroir
The Syrah is grown at Tenuta dell’Ammiraglia in the heart of Maremma, on sunlit hills where sea breezes moderate high summer temperatures. The clay-limestone soils have a markedly stony structure, with stones of varying sizes.

Elegant and generous in style, with bright, fragrant aromas of ripe berries and spices.
Label / history
First released in 2006. The estate was formerly called “La Capitana,” reflecting its history as a papal gift to a naval commander after victories against the Venetian fleet. Frescobaldi renamed it “Ammiraglia,” meaning “flagship” in Italian, retaining the maritime theme.
