About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Benefizio vineyard lies at 730 metres above sea level. Its sandy soil is rich in minerals.
Grapes
Three Chardonnay clones are planted in the vineyard, each ripening at a different time.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in late September. A portion undergoes 12 hours of skin maceration at 5°C, followed by partial malolactic fermentation. Fermentation takes place for 30 days in new French oak barrels at no more than 25°C, with periodic bâtonnage.
Ageing
The wine matures for 10 months in new French oak barrels.
