About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Favà is made from Tenuta Garetto’s oldest Barbera vines in Agliano Terme. The vines are 90 years old.

Grapes

100% Barbera.

Vinification

The bunches are selected manually following a late-September harvest. Maceration takes place in steel and concrete tanks for approximately 10 days.

Ageing

Maturation combines concrete with large casks, including approximately 12 months in wood.

Tasting profile

A rich, velvety and complex Barbera. It may be enjoyed young but is also suited to extended cellaring.

Serving and pairing

Pair with rich first courses, red meat, game and piquant cheeses. Cellaring potential is 15 years.

Vintage notes

The current release is 2022. The 2017 vintage was not produced.
