About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the winery's own vineyards in the municipality of Nizza Monferrato. Fruit at its best ripeness is selected from the oldest vineyards.
Vinification
The grapes are carefully harvested and vinified using traditional methods.
Ageing
The wine ages in small 225-litre oak barrels, resting on the lees for as long as needed to develop the qualities expected of a fine wine from this origin. It then matures in bottle for 12 months before release.
Label / history
The wine has been aged in French barrels, known as "carato", since 1988. The name combines "Bar" from Barbaresco with "Carato".
