About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the company’s own vineyards in Friuli. Genagricola manages the entire process, beginning with vine cultivation. Following its acquisition of the estate, more than 200 hectares of vineyards were replanted over a period of 20 years, including plots planted with experimental grape varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in mid-September and destemmed. The berries remain in dedicated containers for four days before gentle pressing. The must then undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
One portion ages in stainless-steel tanks, while the remainder spends approximately two months in oak barrels. The portions are subsequently blended and bottled.
Label / history
The history of Borgo Magredo began in 1989, when Genagricola acquired the estate. The vineyards, equipment, production methods and cellar facilities were subsequently modernized and developed.
