About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vines more than 20 years old, with yields kept below 6 tonnes per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September and destemmed immediately. Cold maceration is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests in stainless-steel vessels for four months.
Label / history
The bottle has a modern, fabric-like label whose texture and colour vary across the Borgo Magredo range. The brand dates from 1989, when Genagricola acquired the estate and began modernising it and developing its vineyards in Friuli. Over the following 20 years, more than 200 hectares were replanted, including experimental grape varieties, while equipment, production methods and cellars were upgraded. The 2012 vintage received a gold medal at the 2013 Mundus Vini competition.
