About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a single 100-year-old vineyard at more than 650 metres above sea level. The site’s soils, known as “Garaunele,” contain mineral-rich granite deposits and red clay. The vines are cultivated using the classic Sardinian method, with yields not exceeding 30 quintals per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are generally harvested late, during the final ten days of October.
Ageing
The wine ages for 24 months in special large 40-hectolitre barrels. It is bottled without filtration and matures for a further nine months in the winery’s cellars.
