About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from several plots in Contrada Graffetta near Ispica, Sicily. The 6 ha of south-facing vineyards lie at an average elevation of 40 m a.s.l. Their fertile soils are rich in marine limestone. The vines are eight years old and planted at 6,500 vines/ha, with an average yield of 1.2 kg per plant. Training combines spur pruning and cane pruning.
The warm, dry and consistently ventilated climate is moderated by sea breezes. The subsoil promotes the fruit character and concentration of Syrah.
