About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in vineyards on the northern slope of Mount Etna, in sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soil. Some vines are up to 150 years old.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, placed in small crates and taken to the winery, where they are crushed and gently pressed. Maceration takes place in stainless-steel vats for 12 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in small barrels.

Ageing

The wine ages for 24 months in old barriques, followed by a further 12 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.

Tasting profile

Vibrant and expressive.

Label / history

The 2007 vintage had a production run of 19,000 bottles.
