About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from vineyards in the Castiglione di Sicilia microzone, on the northern slope of Mount Etna. The vines average 10 years of age and grow in sandy volcanic soils rich in minerals.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. After crushing and gentle pressing, the wine macerates in concrete vats for one week.

Ageing

The wine matures in concrete tanks for nine months, followed by two months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.

Label / history

The wine recalls a bright, bold and unpredictable style made centuries ago by the farmers of Muntagna.
