About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the single-vineyard site Ronchi, which La Bioca leases from a family living in the commune.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. After several days of cold maceration, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, followed by a further 14 days of maceration.

Ageing

The wine rests in oak barrels for 16 months.

Label / history

In the Piedmontese dialect, Lurens means “Lorenzo,” a name associated with the laurel tree and its symbolism of wisdom and victory. A large laurel once stood at the vineyard’s edge but was removed because it shaded the vines excessively. The label bears a hand-drawn map of the Ronchi vineyard. Production in 2013 amounted to 390 bottles.
