About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie near the Adriatic Sea in a mild Mediterranean climate. Their clay-limestone soils are rich in trace elements. The vines are 30 years old and planted at a density of 4,300 vines per hectare.
The 23-hectare estate is in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Its soils contain dolomitic limestone, clay and pebbles and are rich in minerals.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September. The berries undergo 24–36 hours of cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by gentle pressing. The must ferments in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for several months in stainless-steel tanks.
