About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate’s vineyards in Traversagna, Prato Sesia and Le Piane. The vines average 30–50 years of age.
Grapes
Nebbiolo is blended with a small proportion of Vespolina.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a long fermentation on the skins with natural yeasts in open steel tanks and oak barrels. The cap is punched down manually once or twice a day. Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels, beginning in the spring following the harvest.
Ageing
The wine matures for three years in large oak barrels of 2,000–3,000 litres, followed by a further 12 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Tasting profile
Rich and rounded.
