About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from estate vineyards around Dogliani, on the south-facing hillsides of San Luigi, Madonna delle Grazie and Santa Lucia. The soils consist mainly of marl and calcium, with clay in some plots. The oldest vines were planted in 1937 and 1941; younger plantings date from 1990 and 2000.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28–32 °C. The wine is then racked and undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine rests for 10 months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by two months in bottle.
