About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a plot of just over 2.5 hectares in the Cannubi cru in Cuneo, acquired from Fratelli Gancia. The vineyards lie at 220 metres above sea level, with southern and south-eastern exposures. Their soils consist of grey-white marl rich in sand. The vines were planted in 1962, 1991 and 2002.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel and concrete tanks at 29–31 °C, with 22–25 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation begins after alcoholic fermentation is complete.
Ageing
The wine spends several months in oak barrels, followed by an extended period of maturation in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Tasting profile
The wine has richness and depth without feeling heavy. Its bouquet is vivid, while the palate is balanced and elegant.
