About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from "Memundis", a small plot in the Madonna di Como area near Alba, where the Marrone family planted Chardonnay vines more than 30 years ago.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and placed in 25 kg plastic crates. Straight after picking they go to cold rooms and are chilled to 6 °C to preserve their aromas during pressing. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in first-use Austrian and French barriques at 16–18 °C.
Ageing
The wine ages on its lees in barrique, with bâtonnage three times a week for 5 months, then twice a week for 11 months. After bottling it rests a further year in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
Beautifully structured.
Label / history
"Memundis" is the name of the plot and means "my world" in Italian. The wine is made in very limited quantities.
