About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the municipality of Buttrio, on eastern slopes in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The vineyards lie at 120 m above sea level and face south and southeast. Their soils consist of limestone, marl and sandstone. Farming is entirely organic, without chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides. Average yields are 25 hl/ha.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into wooden crates in early September. After pressing, the must settles for one day before fermenting in wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. The wine is lightly filtered before bottling.
Ageing
The wine matures for 10 months in second-use French oak barrels.
