About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 200-year-old vines growing in volcanic soils on the slopes of Taurasi.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in October, relatively late in the season, and transported to the winery in small 20 kg crates. They are gently pressed and fermented on their skins before the wine is racked off the lees.
Ageing
The wine matures in French oak barriques for 24–30 months.
Tasting profile
Rich and highly concentrated.
Label / history
The name “Bicento” refers to the vines’ age and literally means “twice one hundred.”
