About this wine
Grapes
Pignoletto makes up most of the blend, with a small proportion of Malvasia. Pignoletto has an unusually high level of tannins for a white grape, which gives the wine a fleshy texture.
Vinification
The blend combines aged wine from so-called perpetual barrels with young wines from the current vintage. The aim is to pair the mature character of the older wine with the freshness of the younger wines. The wine is neither fined nor filtered before bottling.
Ageing
The perpetual barrels were first filled in 2011 and are topped up every month.
Tasting profile
The texture is lovely and fleshy, owing to the tannins of Pignoletto. The wine combines mature character with freshness. Because it is unfined and unfiltered, a natural sediment may form at the bottom of the bottle over time.
