About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the estate’s younger plots, where vines aged 5–30 years grow at 680–750 m on black and brown volcanic soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September. After 12 hours of skin contact, alcoholic fermentation and partial malolactic fermentation take place in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine matures for six months in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Refreshing, with lively, juicy acidity.
Label / history
The name “Mofete” derives from the scientific term for gas emissions during a volcanic eruption.
