About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Matteraneta vineyard in Verona.
Grapes
The grapes are selected before vinification.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are carefully sorted and macerated overnight in stainless-steel tanks at 4–5 °C to extract their pink colour. Fermentation follows with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 16–18 °C. The wine is then filtered.
Ageing
The wine rests in steel tanks, where its bouquet continues to develop.
Tasting profile
The bouquet is floral and fruity.
Vintage notes
The 2019 harvest in Veneto was approximately 15–20% smaller than usual, although grape quality was good. Winter was slightly warmer and drier than average. High humidity and heavy rainfall in April and May considerably slowed the growing cycle, delaying flowering by about ten days. Hot conditions in June and July accelerated ripening, while downpours and hail affected some vineyards in August.
Label / history
The Matteraneta vineyard takes its name from Mater Anna, an abbess who lived in the 13th century.
