About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Carricante comes from Contrada Alboretto at Chiuse del Signore on Mount Etna. Lava-rich soils, high-elevation vineyards and marked day-to-night temperature changes shape the local growing conditions.

Technical data
Etna Bianco DOC. The 2024 official shop release has 13% alcohol and is offered in a 0.75 L bottle.
Tasting profile
A fresh, fragrant white with aromas of white fruit and aromatic herbs. The palate is lively and concentrated, with bright acidity, volcanic minerality and a saline character. Lemon accents carry through a long, persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12°C. Pair with seafood starters such as peppered mussels or salmon tartare, as well as fish ravioli, squid-ink linguine, turbot, baked sea bream and vegetables.
Label / history
Scalunera means “flight of steps” in Sicilian dialect. The name evokes the winding terraces of Mount Etna and the lava-stone walls that punctuate its slopes.
